People who attend our church come from diverse experiences and backgrounds. Some come from other faith traditions while others come with no religious background at all. In the Bible, a refuge is a sanctuary to hide, a place of retreat to grow, and a strong fortress to be equipped for the battle. Regardless of your spiritual background, we believe that you can find an atmosphere of safety, growth and strength at Refuge Church Nashville.

Refuge Church Nashville is a Christian, evangelical church. We strive to glorify God through a diverse Christ-centered community. We are also a Baptist Church associated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and the Nashville Baptist Association.

Salvation: We believe that salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus. It is a free gift for all who repent and believe. Salvation is God’s free gift to us. It will completely transform our lives and eternity.

The Bible: We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It was written by human authors but inspired by God. It’s completely true and contains all we need in order to know and walk with God.

Baptism: We believe that baptism is an act of obedience and a witness to others. It is an act of obedience for those who have trusted in Jesus as their Savior. It is witness because when you are immersed in water, it illustrates the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus for others. While baptism is not essential for salvation, it is essential for Christian growth.

The Church: We believe in the Church. God designed His people to be gathered into churches. We were created to glorify God and worship together. We were designed to care for each other and grow more like Jesus. We are called to share His love and make disciples among all people and all nations.

Jesus' Return: We believe that Jesus is coming back. He will return to judge the living and the dead. His coming means condemnation for those who reject Him. His coming means eternal redemption for his followers.

Eternity: We believe Heaven and Hell are real. Hell is the horrible destination for all who turn from Jesus and salvation. Heaven is the sweet, eternal home of God for all who trust in Jesus.
